Traveling to the Kisura Serengeti Tented Camp
Kisura Serengeti Camp is located at the Central Serengeti and it is only 45 minutes’ drive from the Seronera Airstrip. The ideal way to reach there is by air. Three main airports operate within Tanzania that have connecting flights to the Seronera Airstrip.
From Julius Nyerere International – Many of the international airlines operate here Inluding Egypt Air, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad, Fastjet, FlyDubai, Kenya Airways, Malawian Airlines, Precision Air, Qatar Airways, South African Airlines, Swiss and Turkish Airlines and any of the international flights arriving before 7:30 am can board a connecting flight from its domestic terminal to the Seronera Airstrip. Flight duration from here would be around 2 hours only. The domestic terminal is only 5 minutes taxi ride from the international terminal.
If your international flight arrives too late to allow a same day connection, our Reservations team are able to assist with making arrangements for airport transfers to your chosen accommodation for the night, ahead of your early morning flight to the Serengeti the next day from the airport's domestic terminal.
From Kilimanjaro International – Many of the international airlines operate here Including Air Kenya,Condor,Ethiopian Airlines, Fastjet, Kenya Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Precision Air, Safarilink and Turkish Airlines and international flights arriving before 11:00 am can board a connecting flight to the Seronera Airstrip. Flight duration from here would be around 1 hour only. If your flight arrives before 10:15 am, you can reach Arusha Airport by land which is a one hour drive. From there you can board a flight to Seronera.
Should your international flight arrival time not allow for a same-day connecting flight to Seronera Airstrip, our Reservations team would be happy to assist you with arranging a one hour road transfer into the nearby town of Arusha for an overnight stay, from where you can fly to Seronera the next morning from as early as 7:45 am.
ARRIVAL FROM ZANZIBAR INTERNATIONAL (ZNZ)
For international flights that land before 8:00 am, it is possible to connect on to a domestic flight to the Serengetion the same day. If your international flight arrives after 8:00 am, you will be required to spend the night in Zanzibar and fly out early the next morning.
Our Reservations team are on hand to help you arrange domestic flights, airport transfers and local accommodation to suit your itinerary.
From Jomo Kenyatta International (Nairobi Airport) – Many of the international airlines operate here including Air Mauritius, British Airways, China Southern, Egypt Air, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad, Fastjet, FlyDubai, Kenya Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Oman Air, Precision Air, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Saudia, South African Airlines, Swiss and Turkish Airlines; from Nairobi Airport any of the flights arriving in Nairobi before 7:00 am you can transit to Tanzania through different connecting flights you may have the option to connect onto a domestic flight ( Coastal Aviation) to Seronera Airstrip or you can board a short flight to Kilimanjaro International and then a connecting flight to the Seronera Airstrip.
For arrivals into Nairobi later in the day, it is possible to board a late afternoon flight to Kilimanjaro International, from where our Reservations team would be happy to assist you with making airport transfer and overnight accommodation arrangements in Arusha. Alternatively, you may choose to stay the night in Nairobi and board the early morning flight to Kilimanjaro International to connect onwards to Seronera Airstrip. If your international flight arrives into Nairobi by early afternoon, there is also the option to charter a private flight directly to Seronera the same day.
From Arusha Airport – From Arusha Airport, many local flights operate on daily basis to Seronera Airstrip. Duration of a direct flight from Arusha Airport to Seronera would be around 45 minutes.
Note: For most of the local airlines, luggage weight is restricted to 15 kg per passenger and suitcases or bags with soft-sides are allowed.
Charter Aircrafts – Enjoy absolute comfort and luxury with a private cabin in charter flight that gives you a direct travel to Seronera Airstrip. The choice of private aircraft could be availed for any of the flight routes and there is no luggage weight restriction with them. These flights can land anytime during daylight before sunset.
If your arrival time at any of the airports (mentioned above) doesn’t allow you to take any international or domestic transfers to your desired location, reservation team of the Kenzan Camps and Safaris would be glad to assist you with airport transfers, overnight accommodations and for other required arrangements.
